Aaron Hape works in the New Zealand Government’s Provincial Growth Fund where he provides strategic investment advice to senior decision-makers and holds oversight of the Fund’s $3 billion investment portfolio. Previously, he has held appointments in the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Economic Development. He has also worked in New Zealand’s Parliament providing policy, research, and communications advice to senior ministers and Members of Parliament.

Aaron is also active in the NGO and charity sectors. He founded his own NGO that connects young New Zealanders with opportunities to engage in international affairs, diplomacy, and global politics. He is an Advisor for The Queen's Commonwealth Trust and was appointed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as a member of the advisory panel for The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme. He has been an international election observer for The Commonwealth in the Caribbean and has managed programmes in the Pacific that develop vocational training and peace-building initiatives.
