Alexia is the Director and Founder of Girlboss New Zealand, an organisation that empowers young women to challenge gender stereotypes in the workforce. She is passionate about getting women into entrepreneurship, leadership, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. Through her advocacy work, Alexia has spoken at over 50 events to nearly 20,000 young people, teachers and professionals.
At the tender age of 19, she already has a number of massive achievements under her belt. At 17, she was a national finalist for the Eureka Science Competition and was the youngest person to lead a research project at the New Zealand Treasury. At 18, she was selected by the US Embassy and NASA for the NASA SOFIA Astronomy 2017 Southern Deployment. She was also New Zealand’s first Eisenhower Youth Fellow. This year, Alexia received the Queen’s Young Leader Award for her contribution to women in STEM.
