Vanisa is an executive leader in the not-for-profit sector in New Zealand. She is passionate about helping community organisations, engaging in issues, and fighting for the underdog.

Vanisa is the President of the National Council Women New Zealand (NCWNZ). Over the years, she has held a series of high-profile positions in the non-government sector. She was the CEO of Volunteering New Zealand, Executive Director or the 20/20 Trust, and was the Chair of the Inspiring Stories Trust. She was also the youngest President of the Wellington and Hutt Valley YMCA and represented New Zealand twice at the World YMCA Young Women's Forum. Her contribution to the community sector secured her a place in the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Global Network. Additionally, Vanisha has several significant personal achievements under her belt.  In 2016, she was recognised with the ‘Women of Achievement’ Award for her work concerning gender equality. In 2010, Vanisha was one of 50 selfless, courageous women to receive the ‘Women of Achievement’ Award for her work around gender equality and in 2010, she was one of three finalists for New Zealander of the Year Award.
